question-circle Question Disappearing Benchmark Scores

11 years 1 month ago - 11 years 1 month ago #429 by Mr. Fox
I know this is mentioned randomly, but it is happening enough that it might warrant a special thread to document the frequency.

Problem: Benchmark Result Mysteriously Vanish... wiped off my profile and leaderboard.

Why is this happening? I stopped allowing crash reports to be send back and I thought that fixed it. I logged in tonight and they are nowhere to be found. I find this frustrating and it makes me want to stop using this benchmark program.

Below are my results that have disappeared. Please search your database and put them back in my profile and leader board. - Thank You -

OK, now I am having identical problems with Beta 23 that I had with Beta 19. I can't even use the program at all now, so that sucks. I can't even run new benchmarks to replace those which got deleted from the server.

As a point of reference, see this thread.

Hi Mr. Fox,

Sorry for that, but we are really working on improvements. We are now in touch with all GPU vendors and because of that we are now making frequent updates. The reason we deleted all the previous results is because they were buggy and there were complains about it. For example there were people with Crossfire configs in the same table as those with single GPU. This is finally fixed! Next thing are GPU clocks and CPU clock which are now perfectly working! So imagine finding yourself in a table next to a guy who had GPU clocks lower by 40% than you. Was he a cheater? Nope, it was a bug. And that's why we deleted all results from BETA20 and BETA19,

Today will be next beta which brings a lot of optimizations so you will be able to score much higher by OC'ing your GPU.

Trust me it's a beta and we are working to make it better :). We are planning a release candidate for Friday - from that day we will just delete individual scores that will be suspicious, or will trigger our cheater alarm.

As for your bug. Please check if you are using a program called HWINFO32 or HWINFO64. If yes the please update it to latest version. This should fix your problem once and for all :).

Hello Michal. Again, thank you for the prompt response. I appreciate it. As noted in the other thread, updating HWiNFO64 fixed the problem. I was able to download Beta 23 from Guru3D without corruption and it installed and launched without error now. So, Beta 24 is to be released today and RC on Friday? I look forward to the RC. I am recording my benchmark results on HWBOT, so I am eager to get some new scores that I can post there. Mr. Fox's Profile | HWBOT.org

Your explanation about why the scores were deleted makes sense. If bugs were suppressing the performance of some systems, the leader board ranking results would not be accurate for the folks with low scores.

I'm glad that you are using HWBOT. Could you test if automatic sending to HWBOT via our profile page works for you?

DANG IT! All my scores got wiped out again. When is this problem going to be fixed? Why does this continue to happen?! This is very frustrating and makes me want to stop using this benchmark because of it continuously losing data from my profile.

I also see this on my profile > (2 computers in base)

I have this benchmark installed on one computer. It has never been installed on another computer, so why are there two? Is this why my scores keep getting erased?
